Our School

School Description

As a STEM school, John F. Kennedy Middle School places a focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. We practice blended learning, meaning students can be involved in choosing the pace at which they learn through various media. Our students are all offered before- and after-school tutoring, while our Encore program supports gifted students. Our 8th-grade students can earn high school credits in Spanish and Integrated Math.

We offer many exciting extracurricular opportunities. JFK student-athletes can choose from six TSSAA sports, including cheerleading/dance, track and field, and boys' and girls' soccer, to name a few. In addition, our students can enjoy activities like band, choir, foreign language clubs, creative writing or book club.

We pride ourselves on being an inviting school for students and their families. We practice restorative justice, a disciplinary mindset based on respect, responsibility, relationship-building and relationship-repairing, that focuses on mediation and agreement rather than punishment.

John F. Kennedy Middle School will have an active Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) and parent volunteer group. Information will be provided at the beginning of each school year on how to become a member of our PTSO and who to contact for questions. We offer multiple academic achievement ceremonies and parent luncheons throughout the year, and we hope to welcome you to one soon.
